Together Rebuilding Alumni, Community, & Kids

About Us

T.R.A.CK. (Together Rebuilding: Alumni, Community, & Kids) is a community-minded group based in Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania. The idea for the group was conceived after several community members expressed concern over the aging track facility located at the Oswayo Valley High School. The idea spread, and shortly after, we formed an association. Our goal is to raise the funds required to build a new, all-weather track on the current site. Together as a community, we can do it!

So why form this new association?

This track will allow all athletes to condition with fewer injuries, the community to exercise in a safe location- currently using the outskirts of town, our injured to rehabilitate and our elderly to stay active. The current OVSD and Board hold a plan to improve the track at Oswayo Valley. It is our goal as community members and OV alumni to help raise the money to rebuild our track and lessen the burden on the tax payers. We approached the school board in August 2008 with our proposal and it was well received. The current goal of this association is to raise the funds needed to resurface the existing track. When this is accomplished it is the hope of this association to stay active and continue to rebuild various projects in our community. The name will always reflect the original reason for forming this group.

How will we do it?

This will be accomplished through an aggressive community fundraising campaign and donations. We have already started with successful chicken bbqs, haunted house, and two 250 Club dinners. There are many more community events are being planned! The association will be writing grants and looking for support and donations from alumni and the community. We have currently raised over $60,000! We can do this if we pull together as alumni and community members to build the pride back in Oswayo Valley Track, the School District, and our Community.

Why should you donate?

Any donations made to the Oswayo Valley Educational Foundation (OVEF) will go directly into their account where it will be earmarked for the sole purpose of the track. The school board was extremely pleased to hear we were using this foundation and all donations made to the OVEF would be tax-deducible to the donor. Donations may also be made directly to our association, T.R.A.C.K., although these donations will not be tax-deductible.
